رئيس مجلس إدارة منظمة صدقات الخيرية م. أنور يعقوب يستعرض توسع العمليات الإنسانية وإنجازات 2023–2025 في ندوة برابطة المهندسين السودانيين بقطر

The Chairman of the Board of Sadagaat Charity Organization, Eng. Anwar Yaqoub, presented the organization’s key achievements and the expansion of its humanitarian operations during the period 2023–2025, during a seminar organized by the Sudanese Engineers Association in the State of Qatar.

In his presentation, Yaqoub explained that the organization—founded as a voluntary initiative in 2002 and officially registered in 2012—aims to strengthen social welfare services in Sudan, guided by the core values of commitment, trust, transparency, and hope.

Strong Operational Capacity

The presentation revealed Sadagaat’s extensive operational capacity, which includes 8 operational offices across several Sudanese cities, with activities covering 11 states. The organization’s structure relies on more than 90 professional staff members and approximately 1,500 volunteers.

Regarding humanitarian impact, the presentation highlighted a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries served by Sadagaat Charity Organization, rising from approximately 225,000 beneficiaries in 2023 to over 1.6 million beneficiaries in 2025, through the implementation of 104 projects.

Humanitarian Programmatic Pillars

Eng. Anwar explained that the organization’s efforts focus on four main humanitarian pillars:

  1. Feeding and Livelihoods:
Representing the largest share of the budget (68%), this pillar served 987,000 people through central kitchens, communal meals, and agricultural support projects in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

  2. Education:
Accounting for 21% of the budget, this pillar focused on ensuring continuity of education despite the war by establishing 551 E-Learning Centers, serving more than 69,000 children in partnership with UNICEF.

  3. Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH):
Targeted 401,000 beneficiaries through the construction and rehabilitation of more than 68 water stations between 2023 and 2025.

  4. Health:
Focused on supporting specialized health facilities, dialysis centers, and epidemic control efforts.

Emergency Response and Supporting Partnerships

The presentation also addressed Sadagaat’s emergency response in areas such as El Fasher and Kordofan, which included the establishment of central kitchens, provision of health services, food assistance, and access to clean water.

The Chairman emphasized that this success is attributed to a diverse funding base combining institutional support (such as UNICEF and UNDP) with community support from expatriates, the private sector, and individual donors. He also praised the vital and continuous support of Sadagaat USA, which has played a prominent role in the success of many projects, and commended the notable growth of Sadagaat Canada and the increasing flow of its humanitarian donations, in addition to the valuable support from Sadagaat UK.

Yaqoub affirmed that these local and international partnerships are the backbone of sustaining humanitarian action amid the severe challenges facing Sudan.

The seminar was attended by a number of engineers and individuals interested in Sudan’s humanitarian affairs. Attendees unanimously stressed the importance of joint efforts by expatriates and institutions to support humanitarian and development initiatives in Sudan.
