Sadagaat Charity Organization, with support from the Rapid Response Fund (RRF) of the International Organization for Migration (IOM Sudan) and funded by USAID's Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, held an orientation meeting to introduce the emergency water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) assistance project for flood-affected communities in Merowe Locality, Northern State. Additionally, Sadagaat distributed cleaning supplies and mobilized the community for environmental sanitation activities in the Masawi area.
The project aims to provide safe water supplies, ensure access to emergency sanitation facilities, encourage community participation in hygiene and environmental sanitation campaigns, and promote health awareness and education.
The project is expected to benefit approximately 3,500 people.
Sadagaat Charity Organization inaugurated "Ahmed Gasim" and "Al-Khanaq" E-Learning Centers in Dongola Locality as part of the "Makana" Project, implemented in partnership with several organizations.
The "Makana" Project aims to provide a supportive environment for children, offering various services, including e-learning. The project's activities include establishing specialized e-learning centers and children’s clubs connected to these centers.
To date, Sadagaat Charity Organization has opened 36 out of the 43 targeted centers under the project.
With the escalating humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Sudan, the importance of providing food to those affected emerges as a critical step to save lives and support psychological and social stability. During the months of September, October, and November 2024, an agreement signed between Sadagaat Charity Organization and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP Sudan) played a significant role in operating central kitchens. These kitchens provided food and ready meals to 60,000 people in several war-affected areas across various states in Sudan.
This agreement had a profound impact on alleviating the suffering of people in those regions, especially since many had lost their homes and means of livelihood.
As part of the E-learning project and with the support of UNICEF Sudan, Sadagaat Charity Organization launched 7 E-learning centers in New Halfa locality, Kassala State. These include the following centers: Square 65, Al-Tijani, Hay Wasat, Katra, Square 28, Kombo Masraf, and Dar Al-Salam Square 1.
As part of the E-learning project and with the support of UNICEF Sudan, Sadagaat Charity Organization launched West AlMatar E-Learning Center in Kassala State.
Sadagaat Charity Organization inaugurated a water station in Dongola, Block 18, Northern State, as an ongoing charity in memory of the late "Osman Al-Balk", providing clean water to 5,800 people, easing their daily struggle to access this vital resource.
The project included drilling a 500-foot-deep groundwater well to extract water from safe underground layers, supplying and installing a high-efficiency 15-horsepower submersible pump, and integrating a complete solar energy system to ensure uninterrupted water pumping. Additionally, fencing and protection works were carried out to secure assets and equipment.
The reliance on solar energy addressed the water crisis during frequent power outages in the Northern State, contributing to water stability and sustainability while ensuring distribution to the surrounding areas of Block 18.
