Sadagaat Charity Organization participated in the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group in Baku, Azerbaijan, held under the theme "Regional Integration for Sustainable Prosperity." The meetings brought together development partners to strengthen regional cooperation and promote sustainable development.
Sadagaat's participation marked an important step toward establishing a strategic partnership with the Islamic Development Bank Group, built around shared priorities in sustainable development, capacity building, and strengthening humanitarian response efforts in Sudan.
Through this collaboration, the organization aims to mobilize resources, expand cooperation, and support communities affected by crises by advancing programs in health, education, food security, and water supply, while contributing to long-term resilience and sustainable recovery.
The participation also provided an opportunity to strengthen Sadagaat's presence within the international development community, build relationships with global partners, and exchange knowledge on innovative humanitarian and development approaches.
By expanding strategic partnerships and international collaboration, Sadagaat continues to strengthen its role as a national humanitarian organization supporting recovery, resilience, and sustainable development across Sudan.
Showcasing Sadagaat's Humanitarian Impact in Qatar
On 4 February 2026, the Chairman of Sadagaat Charity Organization, Eng. Anwer Yagoub, delivered a presentation at a seminar organized by the Sudanese Engineers Association in Qatar, highlighting the organization's humanitarian achievements and the expansion of its operations between 2023 and 2025.
During the presentation, Eng. Yagoub shared Sadagaat's journey from its beginnings as a volunteer initiative in 2002 to its official registration as a charitable organization in 2012, emphasizing its mission to strengthen social welfare services in Sudan through the values of commitment, trust, transparency, and hope.
Expanding Humanitarian Reach
The presentation highlighted Sadagaat's growing operational capacity, with eight operational offices across Sudan, activities covering 15 states, and a dedicated team of more than 90 professional staff supported by approximately 3000 volunteers.
It also showcased the organization's significant humanitarian impact, with the number of beneficiaries increasing from approximately 225,000 people in 2023 to more than 1.6 million people in 2025, delivered through 104 humanitarian and development projects.
Key Areas of Intervention
Sadagaat's humanitarian work focuses on four main sectors:
Food Security and Livelihoods, representing 68% of the organization's program portfolio, supporting nearly 987,000 beneficiaries through central kitchens, Ramadan food assistance, and agricultural support activities implemented in partnership with UNDP
Education, accounting for 21% of the portfolio, ensuring continuity of learning during the conflict through 551 E-Learning Centers that benefited more than 69,000 children in partnership with UNICEF
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), providing access to safe water for more than 401,000 people through the construction and rehabilitation of over 68 water facilities between 2023 and 2025
Health, supporting specialized healthcare facilities, dialysis centers, and epidemic response programs across Sudan
Emergency Response and Strategic Partnerships
The presentation also highlighted Sadagaat's emergency response efforts in areas including El Fasher and Kordofan, where the organization provided emergency food assistance, healthcare services, clean water, and other life-saving interventions.
Eng. Yagoub emphasized that the organization's achievements have been made possible through a diversified funding base that combines institutional support from partners such as UNICEF and UNDP with generous contributions from Sudanese diaspora communities, the private sector, and individual donors.
He also acknowledged the continued support of Sadagaat USA, whose contributions have played a vital role in the success of many humanitarian projects, while recognizing the growing impact of Sadagaat Canada and Sadagaat UK in expanding support for humanitarian programs.
The seminar concluded with discussions highlighting the importance of strengthening collaboration between Sudanese professionals abroad, humanitarian organizations, and development partners to support relief, recovery, and sustainable development efforts across Sudan.
Driven by the belief that education is a fundamental right—even in times of crisis—Sadagaat Charity Organization launched Sudanese Learning Hub in collaboration with Cisco Networking Academy.
The initiative was established in response to the challenges brought about by the war in Sudan, which disrupted higher education and limited access to learning opportunities. Through the Women's Agricultural Enterprises Support activity in Sharq Al Neel, Khartoum State, implemented under the Strengthening Resilience and Recovery for Returnees and Host Communities in Sharq Al Neel Locality project by Sadagaat Charity Organization with support from UNDP Sudan, “Ahlam” received the support needed to strengthen and expand her agricultural enterprise.
Today, her land has become more productive, and her agricultural enterprise has grown into a sustainable source of income, helping improve her family's livelihood and creating greater opportunities for long-term economic stability. The transformation of her project demonstrates how the right support can turn agricultural potential into productive, income-generating opportunities.
“Ahlam's” story reflects the impact the activity strives to achieve. By supporting women's agricultural enterprises, the initiative enables women to strengthen their agricultural businesses, increase productivity, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to food security while building more resilient communities.
Amid the difficult circumstances caused by the war, “Mohamed Allam”, a child from El Fasher, was injured by a gunshot wound to the head that affected his ability to speak and impacted his mobility. This marked the beginning of a challenging journey in search of the medical care he urgently needed.
Following the injury, “Mohamed” was displaced with his family on a difficult journey, while he continued to suffer from the consequences of the incident for weeks. The bullet remained lodged in his head, and a brain abscess developed, further worsening his medical condition.
When the referral team at Sadagaat Charity Organization received a report about “Mohamed’s” case, he was supported through the Referral System under the Health and Nutrition Project, funded by the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) through Alight, as part of the Emergency Response Program within the first 48 hours. Through this intervention, “Mohamed” was referred to Dongola Police Hospital, Northern State, where he underwent a critical surgery to remove the bullet and treat the brain abscess.
During his treatment and recovery period, “Mohamed” received the necessary support to access healthcare services, including assistance with transportation, treatment-related expenses, and essential needs, in addition to psychological support that helped him cope with the impact of the traumatic experience.
Following the successful surgery, “Mohamed” regained his ability to speak and showed improvement in his mobility, giving him a renewed opportunity to return to his daily life. His story reflects the impact achieved through the Referral Program under the Health and Nutrition Project; by facilitating access to specialized medical services and providing comprehensive support to the most vulnerable cases, the program helped save critical cases and provided patients with a real opportunity for treatment and recovery.
