Sadagaat Charity Organization established 50 safe learning spaces in the Northern State, aiming to support children in returning to education and restoring their learning routines in environments that protected them from the effects of the conflict and provided the support they needed to continue learning
These spaces provided safe educational environments that helped children regain a sense of stability and belonging, while offering opportunities for learning, interaction, and skills development away from the impact of conflict. They also supported families and local communities by providing safe spaces for children where their safety and right to education remained a priority
This intervention contributed to helping children return to the education pathway and strengthened their ability to continue learning and developing in a safer and more stable environment
The project aims to contribute to the academic stability of 1,189 boys and girls coming from Khartoum State in Al-Damer and Atbara localities by providing a meal and educational tools and ensuring that they do not drop out. The activities were: – Distribution of school supplies to 1,186 male and female children in Al-Damer and Atbara localities, in addition to medical supplies. – Providing school meals for 1,241 children and teachers for two days – Creating and supervising programs associated with children, including psychological support and reviews.
Sadagaat’s Activities under the E-Learning Project
The E-Learning Project is being implemented across 11 states in Sudan, with support from the UNICEF in Sudan
Community Outreach and Awareness: Reaching local communities in targeted areas to raise awareness of the importance of education for girls and boys, encourage families to enroll out-of-school children, and promote available E-learning opportunities
Enrollment: Identifying and enrolling out-of-school children in E-learning centers, while providing continued support to help them remain engaged, continue learning, and make progress
E-Learning Centers: Supporting and providing appropriate learning spaces where children can participate in structured digital learning and continue their education despite challenges affecting traditional education
Digital Learning Materials: Providing age-appropriate digital learning content, educational resources, and learning materials to support children throughout their educational journey
Teacher Support and Capacity Building: Training and supporting E-learning facilitators and teachers, and providing them with the tools, resources, and guidance needed to deliver effective digital learning
Academic Support: Providing additional academic, psychosocial, and social support to help children overcome barriers to learning, strengthen their participation, and improve their educational outcomes
Monitoring and Assessment: Monitoring learners’ attendance, participation, and progress, and conducting educational assessments to identify learning gaps and provide appropriate support based on their needs
Inclusion and Access to Education: Prioritizing out-of-school children and those at risk of dropping out, including children affected by displacement and those facing barriers to accessing traditional education
Sadagaat Charity Organization implemented the “Strong Girls, Strong Communities” project to support girls and expand their opportunities to continue their education through educational support and capacity building for personnel working in alternative education, literacy, and adult education
The project included the distribution of educational supplies to girls in Gezira and River Nile States, as well as the training of 40 alternative education facilitators in Bahri Locality, Khartoum State, strengthening their capacity to provide more effective educational support
The project also included training on the management of literacy and adult education programs, as well as campaigns to support national registration for children in Red Sea State. These efforts contributed to improving children’s access to official documentation and strengthening their opportunities to access essential services and education
Through these interventions, Sadagaat supported girls and children while strengthening the educational and community environments that enable them to continue learning and developing. The project contributed to creating greater opportunities for children to build a better future and for communities to become stronger and more resilient
Believing that education is a right for everyone, Sadagaat Charity Organization implemented a rehabilitation project at the Al-Amal Institute for the Education and Rehabilitation of Deaf Students, with the aim of providing a more suitable learning environment and supporting students’ right to education
The rehabilitation works included the maintenance of five classrooms, refurbishment of classroom furniture, installation of air-conditioning units in the five classrooms, and construction of a sanitary facility, at a total cost of SDG 7,400,000
The project contributed to improving the students’ learning environment and supporting the continuity of their education in a more comfortable space suited to their needs
With the support of residents of Al-Surorab in the Northern Rural Area, the rehabilitation of Al-Surorab School for Children with Special Needs was completed after the school had been damaged by heavy rains. The school serves 268 boys and girls
Sadagaat Community in the United States, in collaboration with the Sudanese American Social Organization (SACO), provided all the necessary educational equipment and learning aids to support the students’ learning and facilitate faster skills development. The initiative also included training teachers on the operation and use of the equipment
The total cost of the equipment and teacher training amounted to SDG 2,629,116
