Sadagaat Charity Organization organized a workshop entitled "Early Intervention is Everyone's Responsibility", under the slogan: "We were created different to complement each other" on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the German-Sudanese Club in Khartoum.
The workshop program included a speech by Sadagaat Charity Organization, on behalf of Ms. Hiba Jafaar - Education Projects Coordinator. "Our main topic today is early intervention," she said. We target the family. which plays an important role in this regard. When will they discover that their child is different from his peers? And how do you find out. And after you discover any difference. What can you do and where are you headed?
Hiba added: "We are not the only ones interested in this topic. Ministry of Education. And the Ministry of Health is working together side by side. And we are with them to give our say. We benefit from their experiences. We benefit from the expertise of specialists, psychologists and doctors in this field.
In her speech, Dr. Sawsan Awad Ahmed Mohammed - Director of the State Special Education Department confirmed that early intervention is concerned with the part of developing the skills of pre-school children, adding that the skills are intended for pre-reading and writing. That is, the child acquires a number of specialized skills that reduce the distance between him and his peers.
Dr. Fatima Al-Hassan Issa is the Director of the Federal Ministry of Health's Department of Disability, Injuries, and Violence. Fatima said, "The segment of children is the vulnerable segment that needs people to see their rights." She added that there is a project for early intervention in which the Ministries of Health and Education are working. She went on to say that when people with disabilities reach the age of majority, they can assert their rights; however, children are our responsibility, and we must fight for their rights.
A video was shown in which Dr. Ahlam Abdulrahman - Consultant Pediatric Neurology spoke .. In it,she emphasized that early intervention. is the basis of today's topic... Great challenges facing the family that receives a baby that is different from his peers. When will he hear? When will he speak? When does he walk? Ahlam pointed to a number of indicators through which a child can be detected if he suffers from a disorder, difficulty or disability.
The door was opened for dialogue at the end of the workshop. Representatives from the Ministries of Health and Education, as well as a number of organizations and bodies concerned with disability and early intervention, spoke at the event. Sadaqat charity organization's goal was to bring all of these experiences together in one place. And to pave the way for these minds to benefit
Within the framework of the Accelerated Learning Program, Sadagaat Charity Organization, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Guidance and with the support of UNICEF Sudan, started the National Registration Campaigns in the Red Sea State, Sinkat locality.
The campaign aims to raise community awareness of the targeted localities of the importance of education to encourage children, adolescents and people with disabilities to enroll in schools, increase comprehension and reduce dropout, in addition to reaching all school-age children and registering them in schools.
Sadagaat Charity Organization inaugurated Um Qureij Allah water station in North Kordofan state, Sherkela locality, an ongoing charity for the soul of the late Osman Ismail Yassin and Maryam Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Mahdi.
The project consists of installing a solar energy system with a capacity of 8300 watts, and the work of a wall with a length of 80 meters at a cost of 9,554.25 dollars and the population of the village is about 2500 people.
Sadagaat Charity Organization has dedicated the month of December to raising awareness of children with disabilities of all types (hearing impairment, visual impairment, mobility disability, psychiatric disability, and intellectual disability). Coverage includes interviews with children's parents, psychiatrists, and psychologists who discuss early intervention.
